What is 12tone?
An amalgamation of an infinite number of inspirational sources.
Two of which stand out.
Firstly, the discovery of the irrational number, THE 12th ROOT OF 2, thus the 12-tone equal temperament scale (12-TET).
Secondly, 2-tone. The fusion of british and Jamaican music in the late 70's. 2-tone was about white people and black people unifying, in a predominantly racist society, through music. 12-tone is the 21st century re-incarnation of 2-tone.
12-tone is less of a genre, more of a cultural movement.
We believe in galaxies not ghettos, equilibrium not domination, deeds not empty words.
