Record Label

12tone C.i.C is set up like no other record label. It is a CO-OPERATIVE recording label. It is owned and governed by its members. The artists control there own destiny and no one has to sign over any rights. The artists keep the rights to the music they write and 12tone keeps the mechanical rights to the recordings it makes. This way both parties are entitled to royalties and the artist is free to walk away and make music else where at any time. This destroys the concept of being 'signed'. We collaborate, one record at a time. We believe with the advent of the internet, individuals have much more power and can cut out the middle men. We believe that this kind of free, co-operative model for doing business is the way of the future.
